Personally when I have the option I like to make simple foods home made rather than buy them. I like to know what goes into my food if I can. This recipe can easily be altered so experiment with different flours. Using certain flours takes away elasticity(Corn) while others add (all Purpose). You can also add a pinch of sugar or honey if you want to make them a little sweeter.
Ingredients:
Directions:
Ingredients:
- 3 cups Flour (I used wheat a pinch corn)
- 1/4 c. Coconut oil(melted) or olive oil
- 3/4 c. cold water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup flour, for rolling
Directions:
- In a bowl sift in the flour and salt.
- Make a well and mix in the wet ingredients stirring so that it slowly incorporates flour
- Flour a clean surface and knead the dough
- Separate the dough into 8 balls
- Roll the tortillas out thin (1/8 inch, or even thinner)
- Lightly oil a pan or griddle and cook the tortillas for 30-60 seconds then flip
- Serve warm
